Become involved with a new group of folks who are all involved with reproducing field measured time histories on test equipment.

Nigel Linden, the founder of the original Remote Parameter Control® (RPC®) Users' Group (RPCUG) back in the 80's, is now forming a new group that is not industry or vendor specific. This group will be involved in setting new standards for Time Waveform (History) Replication (Simulation). This group provides a unique opportunity to cross-pollinate the independent work that has been conducted over the past 30 years in military, seismic, automotive and aerospace industries. We will also be bringing together dozens of  vendors who provide products that can reproduce time histories, whether by iterative simulation techniques, or via time-domain adaptive control.

IEST approached Nigel Linden to chair this Working Group (DTE-44). Our first task will be developing an industry Recommended Practice (RP). We had our first meeting at  the IEST ESTECH annual technical meeting, on May 8, 2006 in Phoenix Arizona. We had a healthy debate about the different techniques, and have formed an action plan.
