Re:Test Engineers can help you with Steering System Tests.

Steering test systems fall into two major categories: performance (measurement) and durability. These steering test systems are arguably the most challenging systems to build. All equipment OEMs have horror stories to tell about steering test systems that have sat for months on the checkout floor. Special control algorithms have been developed to ensure that the measurement hysteresis and noise levels are kept to a minimum. Stiffness of the test system is also critical. High stiffness becomes a challenge when the test system has to accommodate a broad range of specimen geometries.

With over 28 years of experience, Nigel Linden can help you with all aspects of steering system testing. His experience ranges from  designing steering test systems, developing block profiles, performing real-time simulation etc.

Re:Test is the only unbiased source for help on Steer System Testing. Because we are not affiliated with an equipment supplier, we are uniquely positioned to be able to provide you with the advice you need, given your requirements and circumstances.

Some aspects of steering system tests we have experience with are:

  • Steer torque/angle, vertical and lateral

  • Providing adjustability for a broad range of sizes without compromising stiffness

  • Minimizing measurement hysteresis and noise using innovative control techniques

  • Environmental chambers

If you need help with performing field instrumentation and strain gauging, field data acquisition, data analysis,  fatigue life prediction,  fixture design,  or test design we can help.

Our on-line training class teaches students to use servo-hydraulic test equipment for component testing, or we can provide you with on-site consulting, training, or work on a specific issue for you.

We can also help you with outsourcing your steer system testing, developing test lab strategies, designing steer system tests, or  expanding your testing capabilities.
