Re:Test Engineers can help you with Ball Joint Testing.

Automotive Ball Joints are subjected to a complex environment of forces and displacements, while their boots are bombarded with ozone, salt, dust and slurry. Careful attention needs to be paid to the input loads and displacements to ensure the dynamic stress distribution is accurately reproduced in the ball joint. If it is not, test results are compromised.

With over 28 years of experience, Nigel Linden can help you with all aspects of ball joint testing. His experience ranges from  designing ball joint test systems, developing block profiles, using fatigue analysis to derive PVT sequences, performing real-time simulation etc.

Re:Test is the only unbiased source for help on Ball Joint Testing. Because we are not affiliated with an equipment supplier, we are uniquely positioned to be able to provide you with the advice you need, given your requirements and circumstances.

Some examples of ball joint testing we have experience with are:

  • Five axis simulation: vertical, lateral, and longitudinal (radial) loads, with rock and twist, in a slurry bath

  • Stud fatigue testing

  • Axial-rotation friction measurement

  • Seal testing with slurry and ozone

If you need help with performing field instrumentation and strain gauging, field data acquisition, data analysis,  fatigue life prediction,  fixture design,  or test design we can help.

Our on-line training class teaches students to use servo-hydraulic test equipment for component testing, or we can provide you with on-site consulting, training, or work on a specific issue for you.

We can also help you with outsourcing your ball joint testing, developing ball joint test lab strategies, designing ball joint tests, or  expanding your ball joint testing capabilities.
